Plexus Probio5 Review!

Plexus Probio5 is a capsule-based probiotic containing 5 different probiotic strains in order to try and help heal your gut and prevent any future digestion problems, but are the 5 strains enough to do that, considering many competitors have 15 strains or more?

Plexus Probio5 Probiotic Full Review & Opinion

Here are my thoughts after taking the Plexus Probio5 for over 5 weeks!

Plexus Probio5 Ingredients

With just 2 billion CFUs (live organisms) and only 5 probiotic strains, these better be the best probiotic strains you can find. And they are (to a degree).

The main ingredients that you can find in the Probio5 are the probiotic blends, the proprietary enzyme, but also grape seed extract, which is a nice bonus.

Unfortunately alongside the digestive enzymes, yeast is also added – the reasoning is to help maintain a healthy intestinal flora. To be honest, this is something I was really disappointed about.

After all, many of us take probiotics, so we don’t have to deal with YEAST issues!

Regarding the strains, let’s take a brief look at the top 3.

First off is the Lactobacillus acidophilus, which according to research can be extremely beneficial at balancing out our gut and improving diarrhea and gas.

Additionally, it’s also been mentioned that it’s effective at lowering high cholesterol and improving the body’s ability to break down lactose – all very good to hear.

The second strain that I really like is Bifidobacterium longum, as it’s a very well researched strain proved to help with conditions such as inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS.

However, I didn’t like one of the strains as I’m not a big fan of it…

Bacillus Coagulans, this strain, even though it does have certain benefits, it’s highly spore-forming, and I have had some negative experiences with it…

Recommended daily dosage for Plexus Probio5

The Plexus ProBio5 comes in a bottle of 60 capsules and the company recommends a daily dose between one and four pills per day.

The supplement should be taken with a meal, the dose is also recommended before bedtime.

I suggest you experiment and see what works best for you.

Plexus Probio5 Probiotic Benefits

I was positively surprised when taking these, as I didn’t expect they’d be as effective mainly due to the low CFU count at only 2 billion – usually I take probiotics with 50 billion and above.

After the first few days of a bit of belly ache from my gut getting used to these probiotics, I started feeling much much better.

My digestion improved, I was way less bloated and overall I felt much healthier.

I’m not sure if this was due to the probiotic or because I ate really clean that week, but overall the results were pretty ok.

And while I didn’t get the same amazing benefits as I do when I take my regular probiotic (will mention it below), I certainly did see some benefits.

Plexus Probio5 Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

As mentioned above, for the first 3 days of taking this probiotic my belly hurt a bit and I experienced some gas and diarrhea on day 2.

I went to check the box and unfortunately noticed that these are listed as common side effects, which was kind of surprising as I only took half the dose.

Finally on day 4, things normalized and I started feeling better. It was a shame that the probiotic has this side effect.

Regarding us who have allergies, I again have some unfortunate news…

While the Probio5 doesn’t contain any dairy products, it DOES CONTAIN yeast, gelatin and brown rice powder – all very common allergens.

This is why I wouldn’t recommend this product, since it kind of defeats the purpose, especially if you want to get rid of yeast infections or leaky gut.

Plexus Probio5 Probiotic Review and Opinion

Overall, even though I did see some benefits from taking this probiotic I cannot recommend it.

First off, the count of live organisms is only 2 billion CFUs – in my opinion that’s not enough to really cure and patch up any digestive issues.

Additionally, the side effects and ALL the allergens with the Plexus probiotic are quite shocking, which is why I DO NOT recommend this product for those looking to make a drastic improvement to their health.
