Somabiotix Review – Does the Probiotic Digestive Formula Work?

SomaBiotix Probiotic Digestive Formula is one of the most popular probiotic brands out there, but why is that so, how effective are they and what kind of benefits can you expect?

I tested the product for 3 weeks and here are my results!

SomaBiotix Probiotic Ingredients Probiotic Strains

SomaBiotix probiotic has 2.5 billion live organisms and 2 probiotic strains.

The first strain is Bifido Bacterium, a well known strain that prevents the growth of bad bacteria and reduces inflammation.

It’s also been proved that Bifido Bacterium can help improve your digestion, reduce inflammation and improve your immune system all at the same time.

The second strain is called Lactobacillus acidophilus, I’m a big fan of this strain in particular, mainly due to countless studies that have been done on it, as well as tons of proof on its positive effects on bloating, diarrhea, constipation, IBS and psoriasis.

In addition to the 2 probiotic strains, SomaBiotix Probiotic Digestive Formula also includes a digestive enzyme blend, as the name suggests.

The digestive enzymes include a blend of protease, lipase, amylase and cellulase.

There are also a few extra vitamins in here: vitamins B1, B2, B6, and B12 and ginger root, parsley leaf, and peppermint.

Recommended dosage for SomaBiotix Probiotic

SomaBiotix recommends taking 1 capsule daily of the Probiotic Digestive Formula to see best results, personally I took 2 capsules a day, just because the live organism count is so low on these.

Feel free to experiment, I really wouldn’t worry about “overdosing” on these, as in my opinion you can easily take up to 4 per day given how low of a potency they have.

The problem will be the price though if you decide to take 4 capsules per day, you’re looking at roughly $5 per day, which is just crazy… But more on this later…

SomaBiotix Probiotic Benefits and Results

Personally I was on the fence regarding the results I’m going to get from taking these probiotics right from the start, why?

Their low probiotic count. As mentioned, the SomaBiotix Probiotics only contain 2.5 million CFUs, which is INCREDIBLY low. Pair that with the fact that there are also only 2 probiotic strains and you’ve got a great recipe.

A recipe for an ineffective probiotic supplement. 🙁

During my testing I didn’t really experience any benefits, I was more bloated than usual (because I switched from my usual probiotic to these), I also wasn’t as energized and by the end of my testing I was starting to get cold hands and feet. 🙁

That’s something that my usual probiotic choice solves!

One thing that I did like about this probiotic was the digestive enzymes and vitamins, unfortunately, I can’t say I noticed any positive effects from them though.

SomaBiotix Probiotic Side Effects and Allergies

Luckily, I didn’t experience any side effects while taking this probiotic, which is of course a plus. Unfortunately the reason for that is, because the probiotic simply isn’t potent enough to have any effect on the body.

For those with allergies, be careful, as this product does contain gelatin.

While that’s no reason to panic, be careful if you’re allergic to it, as once again – the probiotic packaging doesn’t list any warnings about the fact that it contains gelatin!

SomaBiotix Review and Thoughts

Overall, I have to disappoint you and say that the SomaBiotix was a big disappointment in my eyes, especially when comparing it to my preferred probiotic.

First off the price of SomaBiotix is quite high, coming in at $1.30 per capsule, which is quite ridiculous, compared to other probiotics on the market, who have not only more CFUs, but also more probiotic strain types.

Second is the low CFU count, which unfortunately makes this probiotic totally useless, as you simply won’t experience any benefits – in other words, you’re better of buying some kefir and sauerkraut and just eating that.

2.5 billion CFUs simply IS NOT enough to make a profound difference in your gut health.
