Spring Valley’s Daily Probiotic is a very affordable choice on the market, coming in at only around 50 cents per capsule, but given the low price point, will they still deliver results? This is my experience after using the product for over 1 month.
Spring Valley Daily Probiotic Full Review & Opinion
Spring Valley Probiotic Ingredients
The Daily Probiotic by Spring Valley contains 4 billion CFUs (healthy bacteria) per capsule, which come from 10 different probiotic strains. In the blend, you’ll also be able to find prebiotic fibers, which is an obvious plus, given that prebiotics help probiotics be even more efficient.
The total list of 10 different probiotic strains includes:
- Lactobacillus paracasei
- Lactobacillus acidophilus
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus
- Bifidobacterium bifidum
- Bifidobacterium longum
- Bifidobacterium breve
- Lactobacillus casei
- Lactobacillus plantarum
- Lactobacillus lactis
- Streptococcus thermophilus
As you can see the list of probiotic strains isn’t bad at all and if I had to pick 3 of my favorite probiotic strains from the list, I’d first pick Bifidobacterium Bifidum and the reason why I like this one is because it’s been proven to help with irritable bowel syndrome, providing relief for constipation and diarrhea, as well as reversing ulcerative colitis. It’s also one of the best probiotics for SIBO.
My second favorite is Lactobacillus plantarum, the reason why I like this one is because of its numerous benefits on reducing both depression and anxiety by detoxing your gut of toxins, as well as reducing inflammation and helping with the absorption of vitamins, minerals and nutrients from the food you consume.
Finally the third strain that I like is Bifidobacterium breve, because it’s been shown to guarantee relief from IBS and Ulcerative Colitis and also a great probiotic strain for those who are travelling and possibly suffering from travellers diarrhea.
Recommended dosage for Spring Valley Daily Probiotic
The recommended instructions for taking Spring Valley’s Daily Probiotic is to take 1 capsule daily, ideally with a bit of water and before a meal.
As always, I suggest that you consume probiotics 30 minutes before breakfast for best results, as most healthy bacteria will get the chance to make it down to your gut.
Spring Valley Daily Probiotic Benefits
Unfortunately I have to disappoint you and say that I didn’t really notice any massive benefits while taking this probiotic, I saw no improvement in digestion, no reduction in bloating and after the end of the 3rd week by IBS symptoms came back – those that are usually gone, when I’m on my regular probiotic.
Maybe, it’s just me who needs a stronger dose of probiotics, but overall if you’re someone who’s suffering from IBS, bloating or gas – this probiotic won’t provide you with much relief.
Spring Valley Probiotics Side Effects and Allergens
Even though I experienced no benefits, I’m still happy that I didn’t experience any side effects, yes it’d be funny to get bad side effects from a probiotic that didn’t provide any benefits (although it has happened before).
In terms of potential allergens present in the probiotic, this was another red flag for me.
I looked all over the packaging, all over the Spring Valley website and more and I was unable to find any information about potential allergens the product may have.
As someone who’s sensitive to dairy, this was a big red flag for me – maybe it’s the reason for why I didn’t see any benefits.
Overall, the Spring Valley product is super weird, as it misses the point. Most of us take probiotics to reverse digestive problems and alleviate allergy symptoms, but when you don’t list what kind of allergens a probiotic may have, it makes everything a bit pointless…

Spring Valley Daily Probiotic Review
As you might imagine, my verdict is not a positive one.
Other than the fact that I didn’t experience any side effects when starting the protocol, everything else I experienced is just another negative…
From the actual benefits being non existent, to the lack of information on the potential allergens – all the negative sides just don’t make this product worth it.
I’d much rather pay an additional 10 cents per capsule and get a probiotic that’s better, actually works and makes me feel good, as well as has an assurance that it doesn’t include any potential allergens that may cause me harm.
There are many other BETTER choices out there and I can’t recommend the Spring Valley Daily Probiotic.
